Me on a lovely walk with Colt my PAT dog

Hi, I'm Rosie

I am a certified Emotional Therapist, Coach and NLP practitioner. I'm a member of the NLP Association of Excellence (NLPEA). I am also a freelance trainer, safeguarding consultant and supervisor. I have a proven track record of working with those wanting to make a change in their life, for whatever reason, with a focus on holistic wellbeing and self-care.

I have a background in trauma focused work, management, compassion focused training, working in custodial settings with substance misuse, behaviour change around unhealthy behaviours within relationships and highly sensitive people (children and adults). I have also worked in education with those aged 16 and over, mentoring, empowering and supporting mental health and wellbeing and am a qualifed Ollie Coach (Ollie and His Superpowers).

I am a member of The Safe Space Alliance which is a LGBTQI+ led nonprofit organisation that aims to help people identify, navigate, and create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ communities worldwide. I am a member of the Anti Victim Blaming Trauma Informed Network (AVBTI; VictimFocus) and keep up to date trauma informed practice at the core of my work. My aim is to work creatively and compassionately with whoever needs support.

I use my wealth of knowledge and passion to walk alongside you, either 1:1 or in groups, and empower you to be your favourite version of yourself.

Relationships and Communication

Rosie can offer guidance to help you develop personally and professionally. Whether this is going for the job you want, taking advantage of opportunities or developing your skills – Rosie can help you maximise your potential.

There are so many factors and experiences that influence emotional wellbeing. How much time do you take for yourself, how do you value yourself, how do you know you are looking after yourself and playing an active role in that wellbeing? Rosie can support you with managing and encouraging positive emotions, moods, thoughts, and feelings.

Are you feeling like you know what you want to do, but aren’t sure how to get there, or feel you don’t have enough self-belief to get that journey started? Is the change you want to make something you are afraid of, or do you feel like you don’t know who you’ll be if you make the change? Rosie can help you empower yourself and gently help you move towards that change whilst making sure you are practicing self-care.

What are your goals? What skills and attributes are at your disposal to enable you to reach them? Some personal development can be for fun! Sometimes the motivation towards developing your personal vision needs a nudge. Rosie can support you to recognise potential barriers to development and sit alongside you to develop your plan of action.

At least 15% of the population are born Highly Sensitive People (HSP; Dr Elaine Aron), and often people try to fit in to an insensitive world whilst feeling misunderstood or overwhelmed. Do you find yourself thinking more deeply than others, sensitive to sound or touch, overwhelmed with your own or others’ emotions, easy to tire in social situations? Rosie can help you explore sensitive life and help you live as the authentic sensitive person you are.

Sometimes in relationships the feeling of connectedness or emotional intimacy lessens, potentially developing feelings of lack of respect or compassion, whether that is an intimate relationship or family and friends. Are you finding it hard to explain to someone else how you are feeling, what your needs are, or not feeling listened to? Do you want to solve a misunderstanding or build love and respect? Are you behaving or reacting in a way you wish you weren’t in a relationship? Rosie can support you to use healthy, safe behaviours and forms of communication to move a relationship forward in a way that meets the needs of all parties.

The Princess and the Fog - A Story for Children with Depression
by Lloyd Jones

Mum's Jumper
by Jayde Perkin

Grandma
by Jessica Shepherd

You Make Your Parents Super Happy
by Ricky K. Chandler

Read the reviews...

This is a book that will resonate with parents/carers and children. The book moves from depicting how low mood and depression can creep in slowly, then how support networks try to help, through to learned coping skills, help seeking abilities and resilience for the future.

The book is honest, hopeful and holistic.

Parents could read this with their children and would be suitable for children aged 8+ I'd say (developmentally speaking). I believe the book would be helpful for giving language to experiences that young ones previously may not have and also can open up conversations about low mood.

At the end is a really helpful contribution by Melinda Edwards MBE and Dr Linda Bayliss in the form of a Guide for Parents and Carers.

This is a simple but effective book that will strike a chord with anyone experiencing grief. It depicts the story of loss, the immediate effects and the 'growing around your grief' analogy with the support of those around you.

The book is gentle, genuine and relatable.

Parents could read this with their children and would be suitable for children aged 5+ I'd say (developmentally speaking). I believe this book may pave the way towards normalising feelings and experiences which at the time will feel completely abnormal and unwanted.

My thoughts on this one.... Oh my heart 💔❤️

This book is about a little boy who loves his Grandma and the experience of dementia setting in for her.

This book talks of how confusing, usetting and difficult it can be, but also the realities of moving to a space to be appropriately cared for and keeping who she is in the core of his mind.

Parents could read this with their children and I'd say it was appropriate for any age! There is also a factual couple of pages at the back to help give language to what is going on for the family.

This book is touching, thoughtul and true. 100% recommend.

This book is about a little one whose parents/carers are separating.

It talks of how it might be in the house before people decide to separate in simple, child sensitive ways. It then talks of how loved a child is in spite of parents/carers not being able to live together anymore.

This book acknowledges difficult feelings a child may have around this time (it’s scary, sad and unexpected) but the theme through it all is the love that people have for their child regardless. What I also love is that it is uses gender neutral language.

Parents/carers could read this with their children, as could education professionals supporting a child going through household separation or family members. I'd say it was appropriate for little ones, perhaps 3 and up.

This book is inclusive and insightful.

Podcast - Highly Sensitive Children

I was really honoured to be asked to speak about Highly Sensitive Children on the wonderful Sensitive and Strong podcast with Annet de Zwart and Barbara Allen. We talked about all kinds of challenges they can experience, and how parents can help them with that.
Have a listen!
